Using the Quarryman Autoscanning Laser System (ALS), we set up a number of survey stations around each stockpile and measure several thousand points.
Each survey is then reduced to xyz coordinates and a three dimensional model of each stockpile is created and the volume calculated using the latest ground modelling techniques.
Repeated checks have shown our results to be within one to two percent of actual volume. If required, we can make base surveys of areas before stockpiling begins, to use this information to improve overall accuracy and allow for unique base conditions.
