Cavity Scanning
MDL’s Cavity Auto Scanning
Laser System® is a ruggedized
scanning system for measuring
the three-dimensional shape of
inaccessible voids. With a
diameter of just 50 mm, the
unit is deployable down boreholes
and will complete a
360° scan at ranges up to
150 m — with no blind spots. Applications include stope
and orepass surveys, abandoned mine workings, pillar
recovery areas, backfilling areas, structural monitoring
and silo/ore bin surveys.
Void Scanning
The VS150 is a further
development of the Cavity Auto
Scanning Laser System (C-ALS®)
but omitting items such as the
camera and navigation system. The
VS150 is designed to operate in
demanding underground mining
environments and may be used to
measure voids, stopes and rock
faces where access is limited and difficult.
